❝You’re such a liar,❞ she mumbled
before leaning her forehead to his.
Her lips twitched into a small smile.
❝That’s not true.❞ He laughed,
taking in a breath before exhaling
audibly. ❝Hey. Do you think we’re
making any progress?❞
"Yeah well she always beats you at almost everything so."
❝Yeah, yeah, yeah. But can she put up a tent? I don’t think so.❞

"I mean, I might talk a lot of shit, but at least I’m honest."
Jen’s lips formed a pout, her brow
coming into a deep furrow as she
turned with her arms crossed.
❝Is it that obvious?
I’ve been praying I’m not
Michael shook his head, openly
grinning at her. He takes a step
forward and rubs the palms of
his hands over her arms.
❝You’re not hopeless. You’re
doing great so far. I promise.❞
"You’re not the first one to make that suggestion."
❝I suspect it’s my other half at work. Unless you’ve been talking to tree’s or something.❞
Millie was sitting in one of the tents, with a mug of tea in her hand and reading a book. Or at least she attended too, then her vision got blurry all the time and it got harder to stay awake. She must have fallen asleep, then when she opened her eyes someone stood in front of her. “How long have you been there?”
Michael’s shift was over. He was tired, his limbs heavy and eyelids drooping. He opened one of the tent flaps, spotting Millie and he ignored her, reaching for the kettle and pouring himself a steaming mug of tea he would normally never drink. ❝A few minutes. Don’t worry, I wasn’t watching you or anything.❞ He grinned, taking a sip from his mug. ❝You good?❞
“Ow!" Jen grunted with an aggravated
huff as she hopped on one foot, gripping
at the front of her shoe. “This is the second
time I’ve been singed from someone’s spell
going awry,” she muttered under her breath.
Maybe she should stick to healing.
❝Hey,❞ Michael called, the corners of his
mouth twitching up into a smile. He sauntered
over to her, pressing his lips together to contain
his grin and stuffed his wand into his sock.
❝Looks like you’re having a little trouble.❞
"When I said I wanted to go camping I didn’t mean it in like this."
❝We can still toast marshmallows if you want.❞
I can fend for myself you know! I don’t need somebody watching me every minute as if I were a child!
—Sorry. I didn’t mean to yell.
He held up his hands defensively, scoffing to himself. ❝Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the tent this morning.❞
"Sorry? Did you need something?"
❝Uh, yeah. This tent is a real
pain in the ass.❞
